Behavioral Medicine and Nutritional Counseling
Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. Our veterinarians are trained in animal behavior and can help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client.
Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active.
Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use a modern and safe ultrasonic cleaning device to clean each tooth thoroughly—above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Dental x-rays are available for detailed evaluation of teeth. We believe preventative care is the best approach to for long-term oral health.
Advanced dental care is available by referral, including root canals, caps and braces.
Exotic Pet Care
Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increases. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatment of exotics.
Microchipping
Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. Microchipping your pet is a safe, effective way of helping ensure your pet will return home should he or she become lost. Harden Ranch Veterinary Hospital uses the resQ microchip system developed by Bayer. Ask us for details about microchipping your pet.

Canine Weight Loss Program
Like their human counterparts, pets have trouble shaking off those extra pounds. Too many treats and not enough exercise leads to excessive weight gain, which can have far-reaching effects on your pet's overall health. Our veterinarians can help devise a weight loss plan for your pet. Our program combines diet, exercise and Slentrol (a new medication for the management of obesity in dogs) for weight loss in overweight dogs. Please ask a hospital staff member for more information.
Pain Management
Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.
Canine Rehabilitation Therapy
Our certified, on-staff, animal rehabilitation therapist works with post-operative orthopedic surgery patients to speed recovery, obese animals to aid in weight loss and animals with spinal cord disorders to improve and strengthen walking.
